Beautiful medieval toy castle

Bought this wooden castle for my grandson’s 4th birthday in June. So cannot give a good review yet cause have not assembled yet. The box it came with is heavy so I assume it is of good quality wood. Took a peek inside the box, the thickness of the wood would make the castle sturdy. Everything inside is packaged well. I’m impressed.

Fun and durable for imaginative play

This play castle is adorable. It was easy to put together and I appreciate all the little details-ladders, drawbridge, prisoner cell, and pulley-that make it so special during play. My two year old really likes it for imaginative play and it’s fun to watch his imagination at work. We got the little play knights and crusaders as well as the dragon. He particularly likes the dragon.

Fun features, but poor quality

Very disappointed in the Excalibur Castle. Don't get me wrong -- the features look like a lot of fun, it is colorful, and every part was in perfect condition when it arrived. HOWEVER, it simply does not have a sturdy design. This entire castle is held together with -- count them -- only 4 screws. Nearly every piece (of which there are about 30) is supposed to stay together through interlocking pieces. Now, this method may be okay for molded plastic, but it doesn't work for the wood pieces in this castle. As a result, when you get the castle together (which was really very simple and took no more than 15 minutes), it is very rickety. All of the pieces shift and move, and you can't relocate the castle without it falling apart. It simply isn't sturdy enough to justify its price tag. I do not recommend it.

I LOOKED OVER ALOT OF CASTLES ONLINE AND CHOSE THIS FOR SIZE AND APPEARENCE FOR MY 4 YR.OLD GRANDSON. THE BIG GEST DISMAY WAS A CORNER OF THE DRAWBRIDGE IS BROKEN SO IT FLOPS LOOSE AND THATS HOW IT WAS WHEN WE FIRST ASSEMBLED IT> THE PRICE KEEPS FLUCTUATING TOO.A SOLUTION TO THE KNIGHTS PROBLEM IS BUY A BAG OF O.K.PAINTED KNIGHTS. WOW ARE COWBOY AND INDIAN FIGURES HARD TO FIND BUT A BAGGED SET OF THOSE ARE AVAILABLE TOO

My seven year old LOVES this castle. We set it up (very easy set up) on his train table and it is a perfect place to play with the castle and all the Papo dragons and men he has. It is well constructed and holds up well to a lot of play.

Holding up great.

We gave this castle to my son for Christmas. Now 8 months later it is still holding up well. He uses it with the Budkins wooden figures and other wooden toys like a pirate ship. Great addition to his play.

Cute themed castle, but not a easy to store "toy".

Cute castle, and for those with play areas or children who are true castle fans this is a great product. My son did not use often, so we had the issue of finding spots to store to keep out of the way. It is wood and not something my 5 year old needed to carry by himself.

Easy to assemble and grandchildren love playing with it for hours . We have one each end of dining table and play battles and strategy for hours . Well made and looks good . Glue on the top of the towers battlements for stability maybe !

Good value basic first castle

Pleasant if basic wooden castle. Got this for my 3 year old daughter who is a bit castle daft. We didn't want some massive princess style one and she seems quite happy. Easy to assemble and parts fit well together. Fairly robust but we already have had a square of parapet snapped off and one of the tower struts splined during assembly. Good value for money.

Davvero bello e robusto

Un bel gioco, grande, robusto, tutto in legno. Prezzo non da poco, ma qualità costruttiva e dettagli eccellenti. Un peccato non ci fosse qualche personaggio incluso, ma ci si arrangia anche con i personaggi duplo o playmobil. Attenzione al fondo in compensato su cui poggia il castello: sembra debole, quando si solleva il castello meglio tenerlo con attenzione. Consiglio se avete il parquet: mettete dei feltrini sotto il fondo in compensato.

castello in legno

Castello da monatare in casa, quando l'ho acquistato non era indicato che i personaggi non erano inclusi (per fortuna ora sì!), così mi sono ritrovata a dire che "babbo natale si era dimenticato i personaggi"! Per il resto è ingombrante perchè una volta montato non è facile smontarlo e riporlo così resta in mezzo alla stanza ed essendo di legno se un bimbo inciampa si fa male....

beau chateau mais solidité à revoir

Reçu par notre fils de 3 ans et demi, le château est très beau visuellement, assez facile à monter... Château en "bois"? Attention, il ne s'agit pas de bois plein mais de panneaux de particules de bois, en très grande partie (quelques éléments sont en bois plein mais très peu). C'est donc beaucoup moins solide... Les créneaux se déboitent très facilement alors dans la "bagarre des méchants" ils basculent avec les chevaliers et les frottements usent les panneaux de particules, la durée de vie du château sera donc limitée. Pour le prix, nous aurions aimé une meilleure qualité... Je le recommande tout de même car il est très réaliste et on prévoit des heures de jeux en perspectives... A noter l'absence de "fond" au château, qui perturbe beaucoup notre fils, nous lui avons glissé un carton dessous en attendant que papa en fabrique un en bois... Celui vendu en supplément par le toy van étant trop cher pour ce que c'est...
